The Trainer

Hi, I’m Jacky, trained and certified in Melbourne under Basil Theofanides (Training Director – Dog Trainers Australia). With more than a hundred hours of intensive practical training with shelter dogs of different behaviours, I believe all dogs deserve a second chance with rehabilitation and training.

Started with PUPSingapore, a  campaign to raise awareness about the horrific breeding and welfare conditions of puppy farms in Singapore, my passion to help dogs has not stopped ever since. Being an active volunteer at SOSD has motivated me to become a professional dog trainer with the aim to help other volunteers alike, dog guardians and of course, the dogs.

Because each animal is different, I’ll work with yours to give them the specific guidance they need. Whether you’re thinking about getting a dog, have a new dog, or  needs help with one, I am here for you!

Training Philosophy

Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive (LIMA)

Dog training is not just about teaching obedience commands like sit or stay, but it is also about understanding canines from their world of view through their natural instincts. By understanding and fulfilling their needs, the animal will, in turn, fulfil yours.

Hopefordogs Canine Training, as the name implies, provide hope for dogs that seem to have irreversible behavioural issues a second chance at training and behavioural modification. By providing dog guardians with theoretical and practical skills, this will help to better understand the dogs and hence, live together in harmony!

We believe in compassionate and force free method in our training. Because humane and positive reinforcement are far likely to succeed in achieving a training or behaviour change objective.
