Welcome to our Basic Manners Program! Over seven weeks (six weeks for in-home lessons), you and your furry companion will learn new exercises each week, which you’ll practice regularly to become proficient. We use force-free training methods that are straightforward and effective, ensuring that you achieve clear objectives in your training.
At the end of the course, you’ll have a good understanding of how dogs learn and acquire useful skills for everyday situations. This program is suitable for dogs five months or older, as long as they aren’t reactive to other dogs or people and are comfortable being outside.

Puppies should be at least 5 months old.
Curriculum:
- Sit (Dog sits on hand/verbal cue)
- Down (Dog lies down on hand/verbal cue)
- Loose leash walking (Dog walks with little pulling on leash.)
- Heelwork with 123 Pattern Game (Dog walks beside handler briefly, matching pace.)
- Down Stay/Relaxation Protocol (Dog remains in place until released by handler.)
- Rocket Recall (Teaching a reliable recall.)
- Leave It (Dog refrains from touching an object/food on cue.)
- Say hello! (Dog greets another person/dog politely.)
Requirements for participants:
- Handler below 16yrs of age needs to be accompanied by an adult
- Bring a variety of treats, including high value ones)
- Drinking water for the pup
- Only flat collars or harnesses (NO retractable/slip leashes.)
Requirements for dogs:
- Be at least FIVE MONTHS of age
- NOT reactive/fearful of people/dogs/environment
- Has the up-to-date required vaccination
- Female dogs in heat (estrous cycle) must not brought to training
